Israel Post Sends Letters to God

The Israel Post is often criticized for its snail-paced service.

But what is often overlooked is that the Israel Post must make “deliveries” to places that no other postal service in the world is asked to make.

Every year hundreds of letters are addressed to “God”, “Father in Heaven” or “Jesus”. They arrive from all over the world. And the Israel Post dutifully inserts them all in the cracks of Jerusalem’s Western Wall. At that point the letters are considered “delivered,” and are treated in the same fashion as the thousands of other prayers placed into the Western Wall.

This service provided by the Israel Post is yet another fulfillment of the commandment: “But you shall be a kingdom of priests!” (Exodus 19)
