The Israeli population today distinguishes more clearly than ever between peace with the Arab world and peace with the Palestinians. While an overwhelming majority supports expanding the Abraham Accords and new normalization agreements with Arab states, an equally clear majority rejects the establishment of a Palestinian state. This is according to a recent representative survey conducted by the American think tank Council for a Secure America.
The survey was conducted in early June among 557 Jewish Israelis. The margin of error is a maximum of four percentage points. The results reveal a society whose priorities have fundamentally shifted since the Hamas massacre of October 7, 2023: security is paramount, while at the same time there is a growing desire for greater regional integration of Israel.
