The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday morning the death of another soldier in southern Lebanon. Sergeant Nehoray Leizer, 19, from Eilat, was killed during an operation in southern Lebanon. Another soldier was seriously wounded in the same incident and taken to a hospital. His family has been notified.

Already on Saturday evening, the army had announced the death of Staff Sergeant Noam Hamburger, 23, also as a result of a Hezbollah drone attack near the Lebanese border. Hamburger served as a technician and maintenance specialist in the 9th Battalion of the 401st “Iron Tracks” Brigade.

The ceasefire is extremely fragile: the Hezbollah terrorist organization continues its drone attacks on Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon unabated, despite the US-mediated ceasefire that was extended by another 45 days in mid-May. Israel, for its part, continues to strike Hezbollah targets in Lebanon in order to preempt further attacks.

Since the Hamas massacre of October 7, 2023, a total of 948 Israeli soldiers have fallen on all fronts.
