There’s something changing in Syria regarding Iran and if we are to believe reports in Arab media and the Israeli paper Ha’aretz, the Iranian project in the war-torn country is now stuttering.
The question is if this could be true.
As we will see the reality is somewhat different.
The story about the alleged imminent end to the Iranian project in Syria drew attention after two Saudi media outlets reported that Iranian General Javad Ghafari reportedly was deported from Syria on direct orders of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
According to the Saudi outlets and an Al-Monitor commentator, Ghafari was asked to leave Syria after almost triggering a ‘regional war.’
They were referring to a comprehensive drone attack on al-Tanf, the only remaining American base in Syria, situated on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
