At a time when the war in the Gaza Strip is straining Israel’s relations with the rest of the world, the hypocrisy of European states stands out particularly. On one hand, they condemn Israel’s military actions, threaten sanctions, and even impose arms embargoes, as Spain has done. On the other, these countries are achieving record-breaking figures in purchases of Israeli defense systems, contributing billions to the Israeli economy.
