And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. … Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled…” (Matthew 13:10,11,13,14)
Introduction
I wrote previously, concerning Jesus, that as His fame spread in a way that could have, and should have, ignited a nationwide following, the Nazarene made no visible effort to take advantage of it. He never publicised Himself as Messiah and, in fact, appeared set on hiding His identity from most of His own, Jewish, people.
It’s a preposterous thought, isn’t it? I mean, as He said Himself on more than one occasion, He had been sent “only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel”...

A wonderful commentary, Stan! Our family has been there but this adds another layer of understanding.
We might also suggest that things are similar today. The Jewish locals need that same divine revelation. Zechariah says it is coming!
