But also liberated in 1967 were the Golan Heights and the biblical heartlands of Judea and Samaria, known colloquially by the acronym Yesha.
Jerusalem is Israel’s heart. That much is true. But regaining these other important areas was no less thrilling, no less a fulfillment of God’s promises. Israelis, as well as Jews and many Christians around the world, were full of awe over what had just happened.
Just consider this account from one of the Jewish warriors on the front-lines of the Six Day War, Ariel Sharon:
