At least five people were injured in a car ramming attack near the Mahane Yehudah market in Jerusalem this afternoon (Monday).

The attack took place on Kol Yisrael Chaverim (Kiach) Street, near Davidka Square.

The alleged attacker was shot and neutralized by armed civilians and security forces.

A man in his 70s is reported to be in a very serious condition, a woman in a moderate condition and two other victims in mild condition.

The victims were taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem and Shaarei Tzedek hospitals.

An eyewitness to the attack told Arutz Sheva: “I saw the car coming fast towards the intersection. It ran over a man and a woman who fell to the ground. The driver tried to reverse and enter the market, but a police officer who was there started shooting and hit him.”
