The Israeli military has expanded its attacks on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. According to the IDF, targets in several regions were hit on Thursday—from Nabatieh in the south to the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country. The targets included weapons depots, training centers, and production facilities for precision missiles.

An Israeli fighter jet destroyed an ammunition depot that, according to the IDF, was used by Hezbollah to prepare attacks against Israel. The terror organization is deliberately endangering the Lebanese civilian population by concealing military infrastructure in residential areas.

Attacks in the Bekaa Valley

The Israeli military had already struck several targets in the southern Bekaa Valley earlier. According to military intelligence, these included a training ground for Hezbollah fighters and a facility for manufacturing components for precision missiles. Fighters were prepared for operations against Israel in these facilities, and live-fire exercises were conducted there. Weapons depots and logistical facilities belonging to Hezbollah were also attacked in the Sharbine area in the northern Bekaa.

Jerusalem loses trust in Beirut

Israel accuses Beirut of failing to fulfill its obligations in dealing with Hezbollah. According to a report in the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, which is close to Hezbollah, Jerusalem assumes that the Lebanese government has not implemented its commitments to contain or disarm the terror organization.

The ceasefire signed in November 2024 between Israel and Lebanon was intended to end the fighting along the border that had been ongoing for over a year. Nevertheless, according to the IDF, Hezbollah continues to conduct operations and rebuild military infrastructure. Israel is responding with precise airstrikes.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem had already stated in July that his organization would not allow itself to be disarmed. They were “rebuilt, stronger, and ready.”

Elimination of a Radwan commander

On Wednesday, the IDF reported the targeted killing of a commander of the Radwan unit in the village of Ain Qana, about 20 kilometers from the Israeli border. Issa Ahmad Karbala is said to have coordinated weapons deliveries and prepared attacks on Israel.

The Radwan unit is considered Hezbollah’s elite force. It is intended to infiltrate Israeli territory in the event of war, capture border towns, and take hostages—as part of the plan “Conquer Galilee.”
