Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the National Health Command Center on Monday together with Health Minister Haim Katz as part of Operation Roaring Lion.

During the visit, Netanyahu received a briefing from the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, on the work of the Israeli health system during the current military confrontation.

The Command Center coordinates hospital operations in real time, monitors the availability of medical teams, and controls stocks of medical equipment and supplies. This is done in close coordination with all security and emergency authorities.

The preparations of the hospitals were also presented; some are operating in protected areas. These include expanding capacity to receive the injured as well as ensuring continuous medical care through HMOs and hospitals even during active combat.

In addition, measures to protect the civilian population were introduced. These include medical and psychological care for the injured, assistance for evacuees, and medical services for the population during the fighting.

Netanyahu stated during the visit:

“Our goal is to help the Iranian people throw off the yoke of tyranny. Ultimately, that lies in their own hands. But there is no doubt that with the measures we have taken so far, we are breaking their bones—and our hand remains outstretched.

“If we succeed together with the Iranian people, we can—if such a thing exists at all in the life of nations—bring about a permanent end. We will bring change and are already effecting a tremendous change in Israel’s position.

“Part of this struggle takes place on the offensive side, but a very large part is on the defensive side. The defensive side is above all the will of the people and the strength of the citizens. The strength of the citizens is also the strength of those who care for them—and that is you. The people’s trust that they will be well cared for is very great, and that is thanks to you.”

Katz added:

“I thank the employees of the health system for their impressive work and their dedication in ensuring the best possible care and maximum protection. The transition from routine operations to wartime mode occurred within just a few hours. The ministry reviews itself daily to understand what we can still improve and how we can become even better.”
