The Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today consists of political parties and Members of Knesset (MKs) who hold the belief that Israel is working towards the coming of the Messiah and the revival of the Kingdom of Israel.
They are called Religious Zionists, part of a growing stream of Judaism, who are committed to settling the whole Land of Israel, including Judea and Samaria, in preparation for the Messiah and the restoration of the His Kingdom in Israel.
If this sounds like the first Messianic Jewish disciples of Jesus who were concerned with the restoration of the Kingdom of Israel in Acts 1:6, it is.
Religious Zionists hold key positions in the government, and they aim to turn Israel back toward a more Torah-based society. Itamar Ben Gvir is Minister of National Security and Bezalel Smotrich is Minister of Finance and in charge of settlements in Judea and Samaria. Unlike most traditional Orthodox Jews, these Torah-based Zionists prioritize settling the whole...

This reads as if it part of the ‘tachles’ series ! – Todah !
It’s not a case of where is HaShem in all this – but why do so many oppose him ?
A good summary/ observation of the present scenario. Where will it go?
How will God bring about his plans for Israel & Jerusalem in particular?
Yeshua was mostly silent on that.
In a strict sense, are we not all to be “religious Zionists?” Isn’t a “Torah-based” society what Yeshua will establish when He returns? Prepare ye the Way of the Lord!!
I wanted to read this article with interest, but in reading it I was confused by the need to prepare physically for the coming of Messiah, acquiring land, building a third temple, etc, with no mention of the need to prepare our hearts spiritually for His return.
It was at Shechem, where Joshua said, “..choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve..” (Joshua 24:15); it was also near Shechem, at Jacob’s well, where God’s Holy One, the Lord Jesus, whom God sent to earth in fulfillment of prophecy (Isa. 9:6-7), replied to the Samaritan woman’s inquiry regarding Messiah, “I who speak to you am He.” (John 4)
At this crucial moment in time, it is our recognition of God’s Holy One, our Savior, that is most important for us.
Great point. Together with the necessary practical requirements of surviving as a distinctly Jewish state, the current gov’t hopes to restore a more Bible or Torah based society in preparations for the coming Messiah as mentioned in the report. You are right to point out that the spiritual restoration is the crucial part. Building a temple, for example, is understood by Religious Zionists a means of restoring true worship. Religious Zionism by definition means faith in and with the Land. The spiritual and physical united.
Excellent reply.
Bible prophecy students took note with the election of a right wing gov in Israel. Especially with all the talk about reclaiming the land to its covenanted boundary. Gen.15:18-19.Not to mention rebuilding a third temple also prophesied by the prophet Ezekiel. Ez.40:2-5. While there was a partial fulfilment under King David and his son Solomon, the Psalmist speaks of this being fulfilled in the Messiah. Ps.2:6-9. However both the prophet Daniel and Yeshua speak of an imposter who will take the kingdom prior to Messiah as a sign. Dan.9:27; Mat.24:15; Rev.11:1-2. Yeshua says of this leader “I have come in my Fathers name and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.” Jn.5:43. The only hope for Israel and indeed the world is in the true Son of God. Isa.53:5-6; Jn.14:6.
That the Third Temple gets built is attested to by the prophecy of the Anti-Christ committing blasphemy therein. And, as much as I like Bibi, only Jesus restores David’s throne and the Kingdom of Israel.
