A Jewish woman who was inadvertently added to a social media message group learned that pro-Palestinian activists were planning to target Israeli participants at the upcoming Boom Festival in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal.
Scheduled to take place July 17-24, the Boom Festival is a popular destination for young Israelis who have just finished their mandatory military service. Portugal itself is one of the more friendly places in Europe for Israelis to visit these days.

But the Boom Festival is an international event, and a group of activists coming from abroad saw it as an opportunity to harass and harm Israelis.
The Jewish woman, who spoke to Israeli media on condition of anonymity, said that at first the group was throwing around stupid ideas as an expression of their disdain for Israelis. But as it continued, the ideas started turning into plans, and were then repeated in a group phone conversation.
In particular, they plotted to lace any recreational drugs the Israeli visitors might take with strychnine, a substance used in fertilizers that can be fatal to humans. The group also talked about luring the Israelis away from their tents and then setting those tents on fire.
The news clip below begins in Hebrew, but the interview with the Jewish woman in question is conducted in English:

Antisemitism operating under the guise of anti-Israel activism has increasingly moved from hostile rhetoric to murderous action.
