The Israel Ministry of Tourism on Monday hosted a short tour of ancient Caesarea with the legends of FC Barcelona (Barça Legends). In addition to the tour, the players enjoyed lunch and a wine-tasting, from local vineyards. During the tour, the players were photographed against the backdrop of the unique view in Caesarea and enjoyed one of the many and varied tourist experiences that Israel has to offer. The players toured the Visitors Center, the Hippodrome, Herod’s Palace and the promenade within the Caesarea National Park.

The football giants’ visit is an opportunity for the Ministry of Tourism to continue to market Israel, even during these challenging times, through the cumulative social media reach of hundreds of millions of followers of each footballing legend. With the spread of the pandemic, the ministry has taken many actions to maintain its marketing channels, nurtured over many years, to present Israel as an attractive tourist destination. The tour is part of a series of other international events in which the ministry participates in order to show the world that Israel continues its daily routine, while at the same time maintaining the health of its citizens.
The group arrived in Israel on Sunday in advance of El Clasico, the match between the legends of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid took place on Tuesday in front of 26,000 excited fans at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv. Several hours before the match, the players enjoyed a short tour of Israel’s Mediterranean metropolis, hosted by the Tel Avv-Yafo Municipality.
Israel Minister of Tourism Yoel Razvozov: “To host sports legends in Israel and to do so as Minister of Tourism is a dream come true for me. I know from experience how much sport connects people and how these stars who we are hosting can be such good ambassadors for us around the world. I believe that international sporting events can be huge tourism generators, and, together with the Minister of Culture and Sports, I will continue to invest resources in bringing major international sporting events to Israel on the day the skies reopen."
