
As our lives begin to return to a “new normal” we’re moving into uncharted territory presenting new challenges, but also new opportunities.
Now’s a great time look at and apply the very same principles God gave to Israel as they transitioned from isolation in the desert to their new, or “updated normal” in the Promised Land.
“You are about to cross the Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you … be careful to do all the statutes which I am setting before you today.” (Deut. 11:31-32)
The first thing to notice is that we have the power to choose. When facing new or difficult circumstances (or people!) it is easy to forget that we can choose how to respond. We may not be able to control our surroundings, or what might happen tomorrow, but we can decide how we want to live no matter what happens.
