This is how Sweden helps the Palestinian people: The Swedish government transferred financial aid to a Palestinian organization which organizes demonstrations in Sweden against Israel, openly calling for a boycott of Israel and glorifying Palestinian “martyrs” (e.g. suicide bombers).

The Swedish government transferred financial aid to a Swedish-Palestinian Association which initiates demonstrations against Israel in the Scandinavian country and calls for a boycott of the State of Israel.

Sweden is proud to be one of the countries contributing the most to the Palestinian people. Just recently, the Swedes decided on a huge budget of 1.5 billion Swedish Krona (~$165 million) for the Palestinians for 5 years. But under the guise of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, the Swedish government aid organization SIDA transferred 1.8 million Swedish Krona (about $300,000) to the Palestinian-Swedish Association – a “friendship” association in which many Palestinians living in Sweden are active. This body functions as the Palestinian lobby in Sweden.

Although the aid funds provided by SIDA are intended to support humanitarian and development projects, it has become clear that the Palestinian-Swedish Association campaigns against Israel and calls for boycotting the Jewish state. This organization initiates demonstrations against Israel, such as a demonstration calling for a boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest that took place in Israel. The organization calls Israel an apartheid state and urges the European Union to impose sanctions on Israel. The organization asked Sweden to bar Israeli tennis players from coming to Stockholm last September for the Davis Cup competition.

Members of the organization have demonstrated and called for the liberation of Palestine “from the river to the sea” [Jordan River and the Mediterranean]. They also invited a representative of the terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine to visit Sweden, trampled on the Israeli flag during a demonstration and spoke in praise of “martyrs.” The organization claims on its website that it provides support for social projects for Palestinians in Judea, Samaria, Gaza and Lebanon.

The budget item under which the money was transferred to the pro-Palestinian organization was defined as “the sector of democracy, human rights and gender.”

The SIDA website states that the organization has applied for assistance to: “continue their advocacy work with the aim of giving Palestinians living under occupation, or in refugee camps outside Palestine a voice in Sweden and increasing knowledge about Palestinian rights, international law and global goals.”

Israeli political sources say that “the Swedish taxpayer should know that his tax money goes to the funding of a BDS-supporting organization carrying out activities within Sweden that have nothing to do with humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.”

Israeli sources added that the official Swedish position is that Sweden does not support BDS. If that is so, then why do they support the Palestinian-Swedish Association?
