Kamal Hasson is a Syrian film director and author living in exile in the Swedish capital of Stockholm due to his opposition to the Syrian regime.

Via his Twitter account, Hasson expressed what he said many Syrians feel by wishing a “Happy New Year” and “victory over Iran” to the people of Israel.

“This blessing should have been in Hebrew,” Hasson says in the video clip, “But, unfortunately, I do not understand Hebrew.”

Speaking directly to the citizens of the Jewish state, Hasson states:

“I am the writer and director Kamal Hasson congratulating our Israeli brothers and friends in the State of Israel on New Year’s Eve. May the following year be a blessed year, a year of peace, security and victory over Iran. We always say that Israel is in our heart, and our heart in Israel. From the Swedish capital, Stockholm – Shabbat Shalom.”
