MembersTachles with Aviel – My opinion on Netanyahu’s pardon

Before we even talk about Benjamin Netanyahu’s request for a pardon, it’s important to understand one thing: The Bible is the oldest political document in the world, teaching a single unshakeable message.

Power without accountability destroys a people. No king of Israel, not even the greatest, was exempt from scrutiny, criticism, or accountability. David was rebuked by the prophet Nathan, Saul lost his kingship, Hezekiah was tested, Manasseh fell and had to repent. The Bible knows no pardon without insight, no unity without truth, and no healing without responsibility. And that’s exactly why Benjamin Netanyahu’s request for a pardon is not simply a political maneuver; it is a direct test of Israel’s deepest moral DNA. For in the Jewish understanding, the king stands under the law, never above it. So when a prime minister says the country can only heal if his own trial ends, he is not only questioning the political order but touching the core of a biblical principle that has sustained Israel for 3,000 years: Leadership begins with responsibility, not with pardon.

Let me be clear: I am in favor of pardoning Benjamin Netanyahu. Because if his pardon request fails, his trial will drag on for years – an endless shadow over the country that...

Lawfare is not accountability. It is war without guns, usually. The people who weaponise the law undermine trust and erode confidence in truth. Take a hard look at the nations. It is the left who destroy people, reputations, economies, militaries, police, social order etc. etc.

Beautifully said and insightful! New Testament: “If he REPENTS, forgive him.”

  3. AGR says:

In the eighth chapter of John, there is the story of an adulteress brought before Jesus by the Pharisees, they stressed she was caught in the very act. They basically asked Jesus to condemn her. He wrote something on the ground that caught their attention, then He rose from writing and said; “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” One by one the accusers left without saying anything more.
Who among Bibi’s accusers is not guilty of the charges they have brought against him. Who among the Judges is not guilty of the same sin they are judging him for? I agree, responsibility is to be taken by not only Bibi, but those who accuse him and judge him as well.
The sin of Achan, stopped the conquest of the promised land right after the fall of Jericho, how many are there in power in Israel who are filling their pockets at the expense of the people today? It only took one back in the beginning, how many are there now? How many are taking money from outside the country for the purpose of bringing the nation down? The same thing is happening in the US as well.
There is a lot of deceit going on in the world today, Jesus warned us about it, making the wrong decision by a leader in any nation today, carries a lot of consequences. I pray for wisdom not only for Israels leaders, but my own nations leaders as well.
