As part of an official campaign by the Tel Aviv Municipality, a local bar offers patrons a free drink for allowing Magen David Adom (MDA) medics to administer a first dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.

Over four million Israelis have already received the first vaccine dose, representing over 60 percent of the eligible population. Children under the age of 16 are not eligible for vaccination.

The government had previously set the goal of five million fully vaccinated citizens as the mark to hit before reopening the economy and air travel. But far fewer Israelis are now volunteering to be jabbed, despite the promise of a “green passport,” thus prompting officials at the local and national levels to seek alternative measures to encourage vaccination.
