Not even in the Bible does God make history exclusively with saints – He uses normal people who have good and bad sides. But God makes history with a holy nation and so it says:
“You (Israel) are a holy people to your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be His people out of all the peoples on earth.” (Deuteronomy 14)
Today, this people lives and fights for survival in their homeland. Its leaders are not perfect people. The God of Israel is holy. We are facing an exciting time in which much is expected of two dominant but also controversial heads of state: Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump. If we had been able to take part in the US elections, my three sons and I – please don’t be alarmed – would have voted for Donald Trump. Why? There are very pragmatic reasons from an Israeli perspective. We discussed this a lot at home. And yes, we are well aware of his shortcomings, and it is not for nothing that he has suffered a lot...

There is nothing wrong with the assessment made here nor is it fully Jewish, I, and many others agree with it. The Lord is sovereign, unlike humans, He can see the end from the beginning and knows what His choice of person for any specific job is going to be the right choice regardless of what we humans might see or think. All He asks of us is to simply trust Him and let Him direct the paths that are being taken.
Those in opposition have their own assessment of what the future may bring, take for instance, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, ect. ect. They still have their own thoughts of what they want the future to bring, but they are not allowing the God of Israel to guide them in any of those thoughts.
Well said Aviel, thank you.
